1 November The Playgroup Christmas Fair – come and join us between 2 and 4 in the Village Hall on Saturday 12 November.

26 October A very big thank you to all those parents and friends who helped prepare the ground for the new surface to go down over the half term holiday.  It was a huge amount of work, taking up the old surface, removing the sand and two skip loads of clay; then putting down thirteen tonnes of ballast and rolling it flat.  What a team and what an achievement.  The new playground suface (put down by Abacus Playgrounds) looks fantastic. Photographs to follow.

7 October Calling all strong Dads, Mums, Grans and Grandads!  Playgroup is due to have its lovely new playground surface laid during half term.  However to enable it to be poured we need volunteers to help us remove the old surface and dig and prepare the ground over the weekend of 22 / 23 October.  This will involve removing the astroturf and six inches of sharp sand and laying a bed of gravel and some paving slabs.  We envisage we will need at least eight helpers to cover the whole weekend.  If you think you can come along and help, we are asking people to sign up for either morning or afternoon slots on both days (you can do as many or as few as you like!)  We ask you to bring yourself, and, if you have them, spades, shovels and pick axes.  In return we will feed you copiously with biscuits, cake and hot food and reward you with tea, coffee and beer (at the end – pick axes and beer don’t mix!).  You don’t have to have any experience as we will tell you what needs doing – we just need your muscles and hard graft!

If you think you can help email info@fringfordplaygroup.co.uk and we will make sure it gets to the right place.

12 September Welcome back to Playgroup for the Autumn Term.  We’d like to welcome all the new children and their families.  We’d also like to welcome our new Supervisor, Sam Barnett-Legh and wish her well for the future.

21 July Come and say thank you, goodbye and good luck to Alison as she leaves Playgroup to continue her career in teaching.

18 July Many thanks to all those who came to the Fun day on Saturday.  As the races had to be cancelled because of the downpour Sports Day will now take place on Friday 22 July from 2.15pm.  All are welcome.

16 July Sports and Family Fun Day.  The children will run their races from 11am and the fun day will start at 12 – come and join in the fun!

21 May.  Many thanks to those families who came to help us tidy up the garden ready for summer.  The vegetable beds are now ready for planting, the sandpit has been re-filled, the trees have been tidied, the sheds have been painted, the ride-on toys have been pressure-washed and the other toys have been washed.

A great day’s work.

Next time (in the Autumn), the ‘bridge’ needs woodstaining and the house needs painting inside and out – all help gratefully received!
